Avenue and that rezoning this land from high density to low density will <br />devaluate the property. He advised he is in the process of selling some of <br />his land for development and wondered how this would affect the sale. Mr. <br />MacDonald advised that his contract does not have anything to do with the City <br />zoning. <br /> <br /> Mr. Glenn Nolan, owner of 16 acres on Rose Avenue, stated he does not want <br />his property rezoned to low density. He advised this area is more compatible <br />for high density development. He urged Council not to change the land use <br />designation of his property. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dolores Owen, P. O. Box 2188, Castro Valley, representing the Ridge- <br />land Alliance, presented a written report from this group recommending several <br />modifications fo the Residential Review Committe's report. She urged Council <br />to adopt the Committee's recommendations amending in the Ridgeland Alliance <br />modifications, and seek the expansion of Pleasanton's Sphere of Influence be- <br />fore the integrity of mutual goals are compromised by outside planning <br />entities. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer and members of the Council thanked Mr. Levine and his Commit- <br />tee for their outstanding report and their dedication in preparing it. Mayor <br />Mercer stated the City owes a great debt of gratitude for these efforts. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Mayor Mercer instructed staff to prepare a work program <br />and time schedule for Council, City staff, and the Residential Review Commit- <br />tee to meet in work sessions to further review the report. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF ~30ARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented a ths meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> <br />Minor Modification Case PUD-79-11, Cork Harbour (Encroachment into 20 foot <br />level rear yard area) <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (IR 85:40) dated July 16, 1985, regarding <br />this matter. No action was required or taken by Council on the item. <br /> <br />Minor Modification to Case PUD-81-27D, Hacienda Business Park (Reverse main <br />entrances to Building 4 and Building 2 in Hacienda Lakes Development) <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (IR 85:41) dated July 16, 1985, regarding <br />this matter. No action was required or taken by Council on the item. <br /> <br />Minutes from Staff Traffic Committee Meeting of June 19, 1985 <br /> Mr. Okamura presented his report (IR 85:39) dated July 2, 1985, regarding <br />this matter. No action was required or taken by Council on the item. <br /> <br />1985-86 Commercial Insurance Renewals <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 85:353) dated July 16, 1985, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ben Fernandez, the City's Insurance Broker, reviewed the insurance <br />program and answered various questions from Council. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br />that Resolution No. 85-356, approving Option B of the proposal attached to <br /> -i3- 7-16'-85 <br /> <br /> <br />
