479 <br /> Mayor Brandes advised that six applications have been received in response <br /> to the advertisement for the position of alternate member on the Pa~k and <br /> Recreation Commission. After discussion, Council set the date of September 8, <br /> 1986, beginning at 7:00 p.m., to interview candidates for this position. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated there is a vacancy on the Housing Authority Commis- <br /> sion due to the resignation of Yvan Albert. After discussion, Council in- <br /> structed staff to advertise for this position, with the deadline for filing to <br /> be August 22, 1986, and interviews scheduled for September 8, 1986. <br /> <br />-- Mayor Brandes stated he has recived a letter signed by sixty homeowners in <br /> the West Del Prado area regarding problems with the landscaping on the freeway <br /> side of the soundwall, as well as problems with curbs and streets. He re- <br /> quested staff to follow up on this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes advised he has received a letter from the East Bay Regional <br /> Park District stating their interest in having a joint meeting with liaison <br /> members from City Council and the Park and Recreation Commission. Mayor Bran- <br /> des stated that Councilmember Butler has expressed an interest in serving in <br /> this capacity and that he would make the appointment after he has talked to <br /> Councilmember Butler. He requested the Park and Recreation Commission to ap- <br />{~) point a member to serve as liaison to the East Bay Regional Park District. <br />(D') CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />~-~ There were no City Council Committee reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Ben Fernandez, 2385 Sandpiper Way, stated that his wife was struct <br /> down by a car on July lOth. He thanked the ~Fire and Police Departments for a <br /> marvelous job in taking care of his wife. He particularly expressed apprecia- <br /> tion to Firefighter Londigan and Police Officer Allen for their outstanding <br /> efforts in this situation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ira Zingmond, 4967 Dolores Drive, stated that he has lived in his <br /> residence for two years. In that time he has had several problems with his <br />-- house that the developer has not taken care of. He requested that a meeting <br /> be scheduled between himself, a Councilmember, City Building Department, and <br /> the developer in an effort to get the problems resolved. Mayor Brandes ap- <br /> pointed Councilmember Mercer to coordinate the meeting as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> PUD-84-12-1M, Application of Falcon Development Company for a major modifica- <br /> tion to an approved development plan to reduce the number of lots, increase <br /> the minimum lot size, and add a neighborhood park in the 21 acre site located <br /> at the eastern terminus of West Las Positas Boulevard.
