35I <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mer- <br />cer, that Ordinance No. 1256, to be read by title only and waiving further <br />reading thereof, amending various sewer related rates, fees and charges, be <br />introduced and adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />1986=88 Bi-annual Operatin Budyet Schedule <br /> Mr. Walker presented t~e repor of the Director of Finance (SR 86:211) t <br />dated May 20, 1986, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council scheduled study session on the Operating Budget <br />and Capital Improvement Program on June 9, 1986, 7:30 p.m., in the Pleasanton <br />Council Chambers. Another meeting was scheduled on June 16, 1986, 7:30 p.m., <br />if it is necessary to further review the budget documents. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the proposed Police Department com- <br />puter system, cost incentives, possible time line for negotiations, and <br />whether or not it should be included in this year's budget. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Eastman, Police Chief, stated the project would be in jeopardy if <br />the Police Department is not allowed to pursue a contract further; even before <br />the budget sessions are scheduled. He advised a contract did not have to be <br />entered into at this time, however, Council should indicate their interest in <br />the project. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated that as the Councilmember assigned to review <br />this matter he felt it is important to get a clear picture as to what the <br />project cost is and alternatives for financing. He stated that if Council <br />determines to continue negotiations it has to be with the understanding of the <br />vendor that Council is a public decision making body and may choose not to <br />approve the project. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that no one is against the project but that further <br />information is needed from staff relative to alternatives for financing and <br />what affect this added cost would have on the total budget. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> <br />Minor Modification to PUD~85-8, Hacienda Business Park, Phase II <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (IR 86:42) dated May 20, 1986, regarding <br />this matter.
