325 <br /> District to PUD (.Planned Unit Development)-Commercial District and Development <br /> Plan Approval for an 800-unit mini-storage facility on an approximately 1.3 <br /> acre site located at 3722 Old Santa Rita Road <br /> {Intro. 4-15-86~ 3-Ayes~ 1-No. 1-Absent) <br /> 0 1253 was April 15, <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that rdinance No. introduced on <br /> 1986, by a vote of 3-Ayes, 1-No, 1-Absent, and that it was now in order to <br /> adopt the ordinance. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler that Ordinance No. 1253 be adopted. <br /> -- The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he would like this matter reconsidered; he is <br /> very opposed to any additional mini-storage facilities in Pleasanton, and is <br /> opposed to the density of this project. <br /> <br /> After Council discussion, and with the applicant in the audience, Mayor <br /> Brandes re-opened the public hearing on this matter. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to the item. <br />Cr} Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing closed. <br />(Z)') Because of the lack of a second to the motion of Councilmember Butler for <br />~ approval of the ordinance, Ordinance No. 1253 does not pass, and PUD-86-2, <br />LI.J application of Lee Reid and Myers Development Corporation for rezoning from CS <br />12~Z) (Commercial Service) District to PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Commercial <br />m::X[ District and development plan approval for an 800-unit mini-storage facility <br /> on an approximately 1.3 acre site located at 3722 Old Santa Rita Road, is <br /> denied. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> Pleasanton Postal Service Committee Report <br /> Ms. Kaye Wellman, Chairperson of the Pleasanton Postal Service Committee, <br /> presented the Committee's report, dated May 6, 1986. She reviewed the three <br />-- subcommittees; their recommendations and findings as listed in the report. <br /> She stated that increased services have been added to the Post Office. She <br /> presented a traffic circulation plan, which will be funded by the Post Office. <br /> She reviewed off-site improvements that will be necessary to make traffic cir- <br /> culation more effective at the Santa Rita Road and Black Avenue intersection. <br /> She stated the Post Office is interested in locating a second post office in <br /> the North Pleasanton area and this matter will be pursued by Post Office <br /> representatives. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding moving the library driveway and who <br /> would pay for the off-site improvements. <br /> <br /> Ms. Wellman thanked the members of the Postal Committee and stated their <br /> function has now been fulfilled. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes thanked Ms. Wellman, the Postal Committee, and representa- <br /> tives of the Post Office for their efforts in getting better service for the <br /> City. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br /> approving the Postal Service Committee's findings, and instructing staff to <br /> <br /> 8 - 5-6-86 <br /> <br /> <br />
