Review of Maximum Allowable Rent - North Pleasanton Area Lower-Income <br /> Exemptions <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (IR 87:46) dated April 21, 1987, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he felt this item, as well as items 6a, 9c, 9e, and 12 <br /> a & b, should be continued until after a joint meeting with the Planning Com- <br /> mission to discuss lower income exemptions under the Growth Management Program <br /> as they relate to total number and the provision of truly low income housing. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he disagreed entirely; he felt it is improper <br /> not to consider applications already in the process of approval the present <br /> exemption program should apply to these. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she is greatly concerned about the rent levels <br /> being raised but is prepared to move forward on the PUD's before Council at <br /> this time. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wilson, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Brandes, that items 5f, 6a, 9c, 9e, and 12a & b be continued <br /> until after the joint City Council/Planning Commission meeting to discuss low- <br /> er income exemptions. <br /> (.C) The roll call vote was as follows: <br />~ AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />~_J NOES: Councilmembers Butler and Mohr <br />~ ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> i'rl MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> ~ Joint Study Session with Planning Commission for Review of Growth Management <br /> Program Low Income Exemptions <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that the Planning Commission has asked that the City <br /> Council consider a Joint Study Session with Planning Commission and staff to <br /> discuss lower income exemptions under the Growth Management Program as they <br /> relate to total number and the provision of truly low income housing. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council scheduled a joint meeting with the Planning Com- <br /> mission on May 4, 1987, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated there is a problem with the landscaping <br /> situation along 1-680 in connection with the Landscaping Assessment District <br /> formed last year; he requested staff to investigate this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he has received a notice of a meeting on May 21, 1987, <br /> of the Tri-Valley Planning Commissions to address a joint transportation <br /> study. He suggested the information decided on at the May 7th meeting of the <br /> Tri-Valley City Councils to discuss this matter, be passed on to the other <br /> elected officials. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker stated he received a call this date from Mayor Offenhartz, From <br /> Danville, stating that the May 7th date is the same date as the Contra Costa <br /> Mayors' Conference and he requested the Tri-Valley City Council meeting be <br /> changed. Mayor Mercer stated the date would stay May 7th, and instructed the <br /> City Manager to request that the Mayors from Contra Costa County send other <br /> representatives to the meeting. <br /> <br /> 4-21-87 <br /> <br /> <br />
