449 <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Selection of Permanent Names for Four City Parks <br /> Ms. Bengtson presented her report (SR 87:98) dated March 3, 1987, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Melvin Nielsen asked that the park temporarily named Oakland/Trenery <br />Park be permanently named Nielsen Park in honor of his parents, who first <br />settled on this land in 1912. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he felt the Santa Cruz Park should be named <br />for its location; either Ponderosa Park or Del Prado Park. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer asked who was notified with regard to the naming of the <br />parks. Ms. Bengtson advised that all property owners within 300 feet of each <br />park were notified as well as approximately 86 organizations and groups. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 87-95, naming four City parks as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Temporary Name Permanent Name <br /> Oakland/Trenery Park Nielsen Park <br /> Sutter Gate Greenbelt Park Sutter Gate Park <br /> Santa Cruz Park Del Prado Park <br /> West Las Positas Park Meadows Park <br /> <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Proposal to Provide Uniforms and Safety Boots for City Employees Working in <br />the Field <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Field Services Superintendent (SR <br />87:94) dated March 3, 1987, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Butler, that Resolution No. 87-96, approving the proposal to provide uniforms <br />and safety boots for City employees working in the field, amending the 1986-87 <br />budget in the amount of $11,523.00 to fund the program; and authorizing the <br />City Manager to execute the appropriate contract for this program, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />An Ordinance to Amend Section 15.28.060F of the City Code Changing the <br />Discharge Requirements to Agree with Dublin San Ramon Services District <br />Standards <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 87:92) dated March 3, 1987, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> - 8 3-3-87 <br /> <br /> <br />
