Berger as a Regular Member on the <br />Planning Commission to fill the seat vacated by Kaye Wellman, said term to <br />expire May 5, 198~, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Wilson, that <br />Resolution No. 87-90, appointing Ben Tarver as a Regular Member on the <br />Planning Commission to fill the seat to be vacated by John Innes on April 1, <br />1987, and which term expires May 5, 1988, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENI: None <br /> <br /> It wa~ moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br />Resolution No. 87-91, appointing Marcelline Mahern as Alternate Member on the <br />Planning Commission to replace Joyce Berger as Alternate, and which term <br />expires May 5, 1990, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she received a telephone call from Denise Young <br />who is requesting Council assistance to solve a traffic problem at Stonedale <br />and Maywood. After discussion, Mayor Mercer instructed staff to contact and <br />meet with Ms. Young to determine what is the best solution to this issue. <br />Councilmember Brandes suggested the Traffic Committee investigate the use of a <br />series of dots to warn traffic of dangerous situations. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. M. C. Mosier, 240 Kottinger, read a letter from his attorney regarding <br />the Mosier's eviction from Apartment 16, because that apartment was needed for <br />emergency purposes. He alleged that some Housing Authority Commissioners and <br />tenants had spoken wrongly against him. He felt he could not appear before <br />the Housing Authority Commission and receive an unbiased opinion or decision <br />relative to his eviction. Mayor Mercer advised him the Housing Authority <br />Commission is the group to make his petition, and if he is not satisfied with <br />their decision he can appeal to the City Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Donel Gorman, 3660 Canelli Court, asked if the City could purchase the <br />Upper Pleasanton School sports field, as it is presently being used for that <br />purpose. Mr. Walker advised that he is not aware of any specific land that <br />the School District plans to sell. He stated that money is not budgeted for <br />such a purchase, and that the City has a long term lease for the property. <br />After discussion, Mayor Mercer directed Mr. Gorman to make his request to the <br />Park and Recreation Commission, who will then make a recommendation to Council <br />regarding the property. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gorman stated it was his understanding that road change signs were to <br />be placed on Foothill Road after the terrible accident last year, and he noted <br /> that no signs have been installed.
