431 <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Option Agreement for Purchase of School District Office and Main Street Right- <br />of-Way <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 87:72) dated February 17, 1987, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Lovell, 5376 Mallard, and City employee, stated that City em- <br />ployees working conditions are terrible. He stated he is very proud of what <br />employees have accomplished for the City, and he felt that to promote further <br />good working habits and morale that the purchase of the school district office <br />should be accomplished as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding how soon a move could be accomplished. <br />Mr. Walker advised that the earliest time would be June or August depending on <br />when school district administration offices at the Pleasanton School are <br />completed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Resolution No. 87-77, approving the Purchase Contract and Option Agree- <br />ment allowing the City to purchase the approximately .472 acre parcel for the <br />Main Street realignment and the approximately 1.53 acre site and district of- <br />fice building; and authorizing execution of the contract and agreement by the <br />appropriate city officials, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Council instructed staff to make the move effective to the school district <br />offices as soon as possible. Council also emphasized that this is a short- <br />term solution to the overcrowding problem for City employees; consideration <br />will continue relative to new City Hall. <br /> <br />Request to Delete 20 Acre Parcel from Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 87:75) dated February 17, 1987, regard- <br />ing this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lou Baldacci, representing Far West Associates, Ltd., stated they <br />property owners representatives, Castle Construction, would like to proceed <br />with their development plan as soon as possible and to do so would require <br />their parcel to be deleted from the Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan, the parcel <br />must be redesignated to Medium and High Density Residential, and the proposed <br />PUD would have to be reviewed by staff, Planning Commission, and City Council. <br />He asked if Council has reviewed the Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan. They <br />advised they had just received the report this evening and therefore had not <br />read it. Mr. Baldacci requested this item be continued to allow Council suf- <br />ficient time to study the report. He concluded by stating he did not feel <br />that the deletion of his 20 acre parcel from the Stoneridge Drive Specific <br />Plan would have significant impact on the plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Harvey Levine, 4637 Chabot Drive, representing the Chu property, <br />stated he was not aware this matter was going to be discussed and asked that <br />no action be taken until each property owner could comment on the issue. <br /> <br /> 8 - 2-17-87 <br /> <br /> <br />
