1 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 21, 1987 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 p.m., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as fol- <br />lows: Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer were present. <br />Councilmember Butler was absent due to military duty. Mr. Walker, City Man- <br />ager, Mr. Beougher, Assistant City Attorney, Mr. Elliott, Director of Public <br />Works and Utilities, Mr. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Develop- <br />ment, and Ms. Bengtson, Director of Parks and Community Services, were <br />present. <br /> <br />COMMENDATION <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a commendation to Susan Stewart for her life-saving <br />actions in a fire at her neighbor's residence at 3132 Paseo Robles on April <br />26, 1987. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that the following amendments be made to the agenda: <br /> <br />Continue to .August 4, 1987 <br /> AP-87-14, Appeal of a decision of the Planning Commission denying the ap- <br /> plication of Thomas Black for a major modification to an approved develop- <br /> ment plan for a residential subdivision to modify the permitted building <br /> envelope for an existing parcel, located at 4 Red Feather Court. <br /> <br />Continue to September 1, 1987 <br /> AP-87-10, Appeal of a decision of the Planning Commission denying the ap- <br /> plication of Warren Avenue Associates for Planned Unit Development rezon- <br /> ing and development plan approval for a single-story~ approximately 7~750 <br /> sq. ft. building for retail commercial uses and for related improvements, <br /> to be located on an approximately 20,000 sq. ft. site, located at the <br /> northeast corner of the intersection of Hopyard Road and Owens Drive, and <br /> accompanying negative declaration. <br /> <br />Withdraw from the Agenda <br /> GP-87-5, Application of Prudential Insurance Company of America to amend <br /> the Land Use Element designation of the General Plan for an approximately <br /> 19.3 acre site from Industrial/Commercial and Offices to High Density <br /> Residential located generally in the area bounded by Hopyard Road, Ingle- <br /> wood Drive, Coronado Lane, and Chabot Canal, and accompanying negative <br /> declaration. <br /> <br /> PUD-87-14, Application of Prudential Insurance Company of America to re- <br /> zone an approximately 19.3 acre site from PUD (Planned Unit Development)- <br /> <br /> <br />
