383 <br />headquarters building located at 123 Main Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Brandes <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER (Contd.} <br />Request for Annexation of Approximately 6.4 Acres Located on Vineyard Avenue <br />(Harris~ <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report (SR 87:464) dated October 20, 1987, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Harris, applicant, stated he is in favor of the annexation. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a letter dated October 16, 1987, from George D. <br />Ward relative to his property at 2775 Vineyard Avenue, strongly opposing an- <br />nexation until such time as he can see how it will affect his property value <br />and safe access. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wilson, and seconded by Councilmember But- <br />ler, to include Ward's 0.276 acre parcel with Harris' annexation request; di- <br />recting staff to prepare a formal resolution for Council consideration <br />requesting the annexation and an application to LAFCO; and directing staff to <br />notify the adjacent property owners of the meeting at which time Council will <br />consider this annexation request. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, ~l~r-, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSTAINED:Councilmember Mohr ~ <br />Review of Bids and Award of Contract for Hopyard Soundwalls, CIP 87-53 <br /> This item was considered after item 9a above on the agenda. <br /> <br />Approval of New Street Name for the Portion of Old Bernal Avenue South of Ber- <br />nal Avenue (Adjacent to Senior H~.usin9 ProjectI <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 87:467) dated October 20, 1987, regard- <br />ing this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Stansbury, 1565 Hopyard Road, requested this street be named on <br />honor of his father-in-law Gerald Case, who served the community in many ways, <br />especially in the area of senior citizens. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Wilson, <br /> that Resolution No. 87-476, naming the new street for the portion of Old Ber- <br /> nal Avenue south of Bernal Avenue (adjacent to the Senior Housing Project) as <br /> Case Avenue, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Brandes <br /> <br /> 13 - 10-20-87 <br /> <br /> <br />
