Zoninq for the property is PUD <br />~ (Planned Unit Development)-Commercial District <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report {SR 88:167) dated April 19, 1988, regarding <br />~ this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Nakamura, 4341 Rosewood Drive, representing the applicant, stated <br /> he concurs with the staff report, but would like to have the service bay ex- <br /> pansion of six stalls included in the approval. He stated it is a way to more <br /> efficiently turn over customer service. He advised he has a short term lease. <br /> for 55 parking spaces on the Long's Drug Store parking lot which will handle <br /> employee parking needs. This was done in anticipation of the proposed' expan- <br /> sion. He did not feel the addition of six more stalls would exhaust parking. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wilson stated there is already a parking problem at this <br /> location; it would be difficult for emergency vehicles to get down the street. <br /> He felt if Val Strough wants to expand they should provide proper parking. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br /> closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr asked if landscaping could be addressed at this time <br /> along with the parking problems. She felt the landscaping was unattractive <br /> and not adequate.
