Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 88:60) dated February 16, 1988, regard- <br />ing this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bruce Fiedler, representing Pleasanton Gardens, stated that the ad- <br />ministration office and one apartment unit had recently been burglarized; he <br />felt that one of the pass keys had been taken. He asked for approval of the <br />reallocation of HCD funds for security improvements to the dwelling units. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wil- <br />son, that Resolution No. 88-81, approving the reallocation of $5,000 in Hous- <br />ing and Community Development funds for Fiscal Year 1987-88 from the downtown <br />street reconstruction project to the budget for the Pleasanton Gardens senior <br />housing security improvements project, with the same amount to be reallocated <br />from Plesanton Gardens to the downtown street reconstruction project for Fis- <br />cal Year 1988-89; and directing staff to reprogram the above noted HCD funds <br />through Alameda County Housing and Community Development, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Council Options Regarding Staggered Terms <br /> Mr. MacDonald presented his report (SR 88:63) dated February 16, 1988, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Resolution No. 88-82, to readjust the staggering of terms so two council- <br />member positions come up for election every two years, and that the candidate <br />who receives the least votes of the three candidates elected in November 1988 <br />shall serve a two year term, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Walker presented the City Council Calendar for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />Labor Negotiations <br /> Mayor Mercer recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 10:15 p.m., <br />to discuss labor negotiations. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer reconvened the meeting at 10:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Police Officers Memorandum of Understanding <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wil- <br />son, that Resolution No. 88-83, approval of Memorandum of Understanding with <br />the Police Officers for the period January 1, 1988 through February 28, lggO, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> - 12 2-16-88 <br /> <br /> <br />
