105 <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and secon- <br />ded by Councilmember Wilson, directing staff to bring back plans and <br />specifications at the meeting of January 19, 1988, allowing a left turn from <br />Main Street onto Bernal Avenue without signalization. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Wilson <br />NOES: Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the budget would have to be amended by $30,000- <br />$40,000 to cover the costs of this improvement. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated that with this information .he would change <br />his vote to NO on the above motion. <br /> <br />Therefore, the roll call vote on the above motion is as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Wilson <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />directing staff to include in the above report an amendment to the budget up <br />to a maximum of $40,000.00 of cover costs related to installation of a left <br />turn from Main Street onto Bernal Avenue. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Wilson <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested that the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Associa- <br />tion, and all the businesses on Main Street be notified when this matter is <br />again reviewed by Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested staff to investigate the feasibility of painting <br />the red zone at Burger King on Hopyard Road a longer stretch in order to <br />restrict trucks from parking along this area. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested staff to prepare a report relative to adding a pen- <br />alty clause in contracts to require contractors to complete a job before leav- <br />ing the city to do another job. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that he recently sent Councilmembers a memorandum <br />relative to standby councilmembers; whether this ordinance should be continued <br />or abolished. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Brandes, directing staff to bring back a report for <br />Council action at the meeting of January 19, 1988, to rescind Ordinance No. <br />1222, Stanbdy Councilmen. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Wilson <br />NOES: Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> - 5 1-5-88 <br /> <br /> <br />
