113 <br /> <br />Pleasanton to work out a way to locate a Park and Ride lot in <br />Pleasanton, preferably on the nine acre site BART recently <br />purchased near the Stoneridge Regional Shopping Center. Council <br />concurred in sending the letter to BART. . <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a memorandum from the City Manager <br />stating that because of objections by the public to the newly <br />installed traffic islands on Foothill Road at Puri Court he is <br />instructing the Director of Public Works to remove the islands, <br />unless otherwise determined by Council. Council concurred with <br />the removal of the median islands. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr urged all candidates in the upcoming <br />election to comply with the sign ordinance in placing their <br />campaign signs. Mayor Mercer suggested that no signs be placed in <br />public right-of-way; only on private property. He stated he would <br />be willing to sign a letter to this effect and would like for all <br />the other candidates to do the same. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated that after looking at the fence <br />lines of bas Homes Tract 5445 on Martin Avenue, he would like to <br />have this item reconsidered. The item was originally heard on <br />July 19, 1988, and the major modification denied by a vote of 3- <br />Ayes, 2-Noes. It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Mohr, to reconsider PUD-83-12-5M, Application of <br />bas Homes for a major modification to an approved development plan <br />for an existing residential project to allow 6 foot fences to be <br />constructed with 7 feet of the property line on the street side of <br />corner lots located on lots 7, 11, 14, 15, and 19 of Tract 5445 on <br />Martin Avenue. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated this item would first go to the Planning <br />Commission for review and recommendation and then back to Council <br />for reconsideration. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at <br />this meeting. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one in the audience addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />item 9a <br />Canyon Meadows Benefit Area <br />[Contd.
