Furniture on Main - Appeal decision of Bu~la~nq Official Re?~u~irirK] Roof <br /> Access <br /> Mr. Smith presented his report (SR 88:348) dated July 19, 1988, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. A1 Bronzini, owner of Furniture on Main, presented a sketch to the <br /> Council regarding the situation of the ladder. He stated the roof of his <br /> building is 13 feet high; it is not feasible or practical to have the required <br /> five foot ladder. He advised that he keeps a 14 foot ladder on the premises. <br /> He stated it would cost him approximately $700-800 to provide the requ~ed <br /> roof access ladder as well as create a security problem. <br /> <br /> Counci~ Brandes asked Mr. Beougher if proper firflings as with <br /> zoning variances have to be made. Mr. Beougher advised that proper findings <br /> could be found given the low height of the buildings. CounciLmember Brandes <br /> requested this finding be made. <br /> <br />above stated f~ and to waive the requirement of the roof access ladder on <br />Furniture at Main at 719 Main Street. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> item lla. 2 <br />United Methodist Church - Appeal Decision of Bu~]d~nq Off~c~a! ReJ]u~irinq Roof <br />Access Ladder <br /> Mr. Smith presented his report (SR 88:349) dated July 19, 1988, regarding <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Davidson, representing the United Methodist Church, stated the <br />Church's roof situation is the same as the previous situation except their <br />roof is only ten feet high. He advised that the lack of hand rails are at the <br />pulpit area which has a ramp with hand mils. He did not feel additional <br />hand rails were necessary or needed. <br /> <br />make the finding that due to low height of building, to waive the rquirement <br />of the handrail and roof access requirements for the United Mathodist church <br />at 4444 Black Avenue. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Members [k-dndes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Chairman Marcar <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Chairman Mercer recessed the meeting of the Building Inspection Appeals <br />Board and reconvened the City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />item 12a <br />Request for Annexation of 27 acres located at the southwest comer of Bernal <br />Avenue and Case Avenue <br /> <br /> - 17 - <br /> <br /> 7-19-88 <br /> <br /> <br />
