She
stated that since the City is looking to do a five acre park in this area that
the site be determined at this time and the Mohr house moved to this location
until such time as the non-profit corporation can restore it. She felt the
house is worth saving and will be a valuable asset to the city.

Councilmember Brandes stated he did not think it had been determined that
the City will place a park in this area and preserve the Mohr house. He felt
the matter should be dealt with at this time. He felt that this project does
not have enough merit to warrant any significant CIP funding. He added that
many people in the Mohr-Martin area do not want a park with the Mohr house on
it because of the increased traffic and activities that will be generated from
its location there.

Councilmember Butler stated there is certainly a lot of potential with
this building. He suggested the City do only what is necessary to stabilize
the situation. If it looks like it will be feasible that there will be enough
contributions to preserve the house then it can be included in the Capital
Improvement picture. He asked if the preservation could be done in phases; he

4 - 6-7-88
