The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None item 6b Support of the Alameda County's G. O. Bond Election for the Santa Rita Jail Mayor Mercer presented his memorandum regarding this matter. It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember But- ler, that Resolution No. 88-234, supporting Alameda County's General Obliga- tion Bond Election for the Santa Rita Jail, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None Letter to Editor in Support of School Bond Issue Councilmember Mohr stated that Council has gone on record in support of the School Bond issue on the June ballot but she felt that additional support might be helpful. She suggested that Council jointly send a letter to the Editor in support of the School Bond issue. After discussion, Councilmembers decided to send letters individually rather than jointly. Music Presentation by Alisal School Mayor Mercer stated that he recently attended a music program presented by fourth graders at Alisal School about the City of Pleasanton. He advised that the teacher would like to present this program at a Council meeting. He sug- gested that the Council meeting of June 7th be held at Alisal School in order that the fourth grade could present their program before the meeting started. The consensus of the Council was not to move the Council meeting to another location. Mayor Mercer stated he would see what other arrangements could be worked out. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Mayor Mercer stated that representatives from the cities of Livermore, Dublin, and Pleasanton, as well as the Sheriff's Department met with BART in an effort to get bus service near Santa Rita jail for released prisoners. He advised that there is a possibility of putting a temporary park and ride lot on County property next to the jail facility, then a premanent lot on the western portion of the property near the railroad right-of-way. He stated it is planned that LAVTA will provide local service and that BART will stay on the freeway and pick up released prisoners. He advised that a permanent solu- tion is expected within ninety days and he will keep Council informed relative to this matter. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC No one in the audience addressed the Chair.
