301 <br /> <br />questionable. He urged the Council and staff to continue <br />expeditiously so that the property owners will know where they <br />stand and what they have to do. He added he wants a safe building <br />but does not want to be on a hit list, not knowing what he has to <br />do with his building. <br /> <br /> Mr. Leo Heckathorn, 4202 Stanley Boulevrd, stated the City <br />does not need redevelopment; this discussion should be done <br />without consideration of redevelopment. <br /> <br /> Mr. Thurman Caudill, Augustine Street, stated that he was at <br />Fiori's building and it must have some kind of foundation. He <br />stated most buildings on Main Street have withstood earthquakes <br />for over 100 years and are doing pretty good; he felt the City is <br />in good shape. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated there needs to be a more thorough report; <br />he instructed staff to prepare a comprehensive report regarding <br />this matter. He felt the information should be received before <br />the next Community Development Agency meeting. He suggested staff <br />meet with Ms. Getty to further define her concerns. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated this is a problem the Legislature <br />has created and the solution will be in Sacramento; he urged <br />citizens to lobby their legislators. <br /> <br />item 6c <br />Report on Landscaping Request at Stanley Business Park <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report (SR 88:512) dated November <br />1, 1988, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he asked that this matter be placed on <br />the agenda at the request of a number of owners in the Stanley <br />Business Park. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Lincoln, 35 Wyoming Street, representing the Stanley <br />Business Park Owners, stated all the Board members are here this <br />evening in support of the City allocating money for landscaping at <br />this business park, which is the easterly entrance to the City. <br />He stated the business owners are willing to maintain the <br />landscaping if the City will make the landscaping improvements. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Butler, that the landscaping of Stanley <br />Business Park be considered in the Capital Improvement Program, <br />which comes up in February or March, 1989. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wilson to instruct staff to <br />proceed on the design and construction of this particular project <br />immediately and allocating $39,700.00 for the improvements. <br /> <br /> - 7 - 11-1-88 <br /> <br /> <br />
