Mr. Jess Apodaca, 1357 Kolln Street, stated that kids play in <br /> the street and walk to school; to open up Kolln Street would be <br /> life-threatening to these children. He urged Council not to open <br /> Kolln Street to through traffic. <br /> <br /> Mr. Rich Valdix, 1095 Kolln Street, stated he is concerned <br /> about traffic if Kolln Street is opened; he asked Council to keep <br /> it like it is now. <br /> <br /> Ms. Loretta Russell, 759 Kolln Street, stated that Kolln <br />Street should not be opened up; safety of children is more <br />important than convenience. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Reddig, 1473 Kolln Street, felt the taxpayers money <br />could be used better elsewhere; he urged that Kolln Street not be <br />opened. <br /> <br /> One unidentified man stated he felt Kolln Street should be <br />opened; it would take traffic off of Nevis and provide better <br />security. He did think it would create more traffic around the <br />schools. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 89-120, <br />determining that Kolln Street not be opened at Valley Avenue, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION (Continued) <br />item 10c <br />Adoption of Ordinance No. 1399, Approvel of PUD-87-119, <br />Application of Dr. and Mrs. William Yee for rezoninq to the PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development)-Low Density Residential/Rural <br />Density/Open Space District and development plan approval to <br />construct a 22 unit single-family residential development to be <br />located on an approximately 50.36 acre site located on the west <br />side of Foothill Road in the area north of Foothill Knolls Drive <br />and Across from Foothill Hiqh School <br />(Intro. 2-21-89, 3-Ayes, 2-Noes) <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that Ordinance No. 1399 was introduced <br />February 21, 1989, by a vote of 3-Ayes, 2-Noes, and that it is now <br />in order to adopt the ordinance. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes to deny Ordinance No. <br />1398 because of excessive density. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> <br />
