Memorandum of Understanding and it is now in order for each <br /> Council to formally approve the Memorandum. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 89-81, approving the <br /> Memorandum of Understanding for the Tri-Valley Transportation <br /> Planning Program; and authorizing execution of the MOU by the <br /> appropriate City officials; be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> item 6b <br /> Contribution to Ilene Misheloff Reward Fund <br /> Mayor Mercer presented his memorandum dated February 21, <br />1989, asking for support in putting up $1,000.00 to the Ilene <br />Misheloff reward fund. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the Police Chief suggested placing a <br />time limit on the reward and adding a condition that the reward be <br />given only after arrest and conviction. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Jackson, Castro Valley, stated he did not feel <br />there should be any strings attached to the reward money. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Brandes, that Resolution No. 89-82, approving a contribution of <br />$1,000.00 to the Ilene Misheloff regard fund; and amending the <br />Operating Budget accordingly, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer instructed staff to find out what other agencies <br />are doing about a time limit on the reward money and include an <br />appropriate time limit in the above resolution. <br /> <br />item 6c <br />Support for Assemblyman Klehs Assault Gun and Crime Legislation <br /> Mayor Mercer presented his memorandum dated February 21, <br />1989, presenting information regarding Assemblyman Johan Klehs <br />proposed legislation related to assault type weapons and the <br />registration of controlled substance offenders. <br /> <br /> Mr. Stanley Rathbone, 325 Ray Street, stated that the clips <br />should be outlawed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated there are other bills being <br />introduced regarding this matter. He felt all legislation of this <br />type should be supported. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> - 4 - 2-21-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
