475 Mayor Mercer stated that if Pleasanton does not start moving on the study, the ridge areas now within Hayward's city limits could be developed with more ridge-top homes; the longer the City waits, it allows developers the option of building larger homes on the ridge top. He stated this is an opportunity to get the studies done and have the developer pay for them. Councilmember Brandes stated he felt there should be a public hearing on this matter, and he would feel more comfortable with staff doing the studies. It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Resolution No. 89-42, authorizing staff to proceed with the West Pleasanton annexation study/specific plan on the Pleasanton and Sunol Ridge, with the costs to be reimbursed from the project developer as set forth in Staff Report 89:38, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer NOES: Councilmembers Brandes and Tarver ABSENT: None REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business at 12:45 a.m., it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in Regular Session on February 7, 1989, 7:30 p.m., in the Pleasanton Council Chambers.
