The roll call vote was as follows: <br />O~ AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />CO NOES: None <br />T~ ABSENT: None <br />'D ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler commented that he was initially concerned about <br /> the architecture of the building, but added that what has been <br /> proposed looks very attractive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that he was also pleased with the <br /> architecture but expressed concern about the color of the <br /> building. He suggested that samples of the paints to be used be <br /> submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver indicated that the architecture is well done, but <br /> that he could not support the progect because of traffic concerns. <br /> He added that he does not agree with the special rate and the <br /> reduction of the square footage in the calculations, and that 42% <br /> passers-by is too high an assumption. <br /> <br /> It was then moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Butler, <br /> that Ordinance No. 1441 be introduced, to be read by title only <br /> and waiving further reading thereof, approving PUD-86-16, the <br /> application of Reynolds and Brown for planned unit development <br /> modification and development plan approval for a 155,096 sq. ft. <br /> mixed used retail center which includes a 101,880 sq. ft. home <br /> improvement store, 49,350 sq. ft. of ancillary retail space, and a <br /> 3,500 sq. ft. drive-thru restaurant located at the northwest <br /> corner of Owens Drive and Johnson Drive adjoining 1-580. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: Councilmember Tarver <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Item 6c <br /> PUD-88-16, Application of Fred Hempy for Development Plan Approval <br /> to Create a Four-Parcel, Sinqle-Family Residential Pro~ect to be <br /> Located on an Approximately Four Acre Site Located at 5226 <br /> Foothill Road <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 89:493) regarding the <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the <br /> application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Cooper of Cooper and Sword, 200 Rose Avenue, <br /> representing the applicant, Mr. Fred Hempy, presented the project <br /> and pointed out its significant site layout constraints.
