Mr. Brandes stated that he felt Council could easily resolve
this misunderstanding regarding the sidewalk.

Mr. Butler commented that cases like this sometimes happen,
but that it is unusual for it to involve an entity like a Church.
The Church could do very well without the sidewalk, but the City
would like to see it there.

It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Butler, that
Resolution No. 89-484 be adopted, approving AP-89-17/Z-89-383, the
appeal of Saint Augustine's Church for deletion of a condition of
approval for an approved landscape plan for Saint Augustine's
Church located at 3999 Bernal Avenue, but retaining the plans as
shown, with the City paying for the sidewalk.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item 6b
PUD-89-16, Application of Reynolds and Brown for Planned Unit
Development Modification and Development Plan Approval for a
155,096 sq. ft. He stated
that the project would not generate additional traffic but rather
would redistribute trips throughout the streets of North
Pleasanton. He indicated that he would answer any questions
regarding the project.

Mr. Tarver inquired if there were any existing Home Depot
stores of similar size as the one planned in Pleasanton.

Mr. Terrill replied that one store with the same layout and
orientation was opened about three weeks ago in San Carlos, and
that another was approved in Concord, to be opened next year.

Mr. Brandes indicated that the same shade of paint was used
on another building and it turned out pink when the final job was
done. He asked Mr. Terrill if this building would be repainted
should the paint turn pink.

-6-
11-21-89
