MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> No one in the audience addressed the Council. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Item 6a <br />PUD-81-30.46D, Prudential Property Company, Application for <br />Planned Unit Development design review approval for a 16,799 sq, <br />ft. retail/commercial project consisting of a 5,040 sq. ft.. <br />regional post office, an 8,059 sq. ft. retail building, and a <br />freestanding building pad for a future 3,700 sq. ft. commercial <br />building for the property located at the southwest comer of the <br />intersection of Chabot Drive and Gibraltar Drive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 89:435) regarding the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the <br />application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Shallanberger of Prudential Property Company, <br />residing at 6617 Amber Lane, stated that the significance of the <br />project is that it would provide a postal facility in northern <br />Pleasanton, which would relieve some pressure off the post office <br />at Black Avenue. He then introduced Mr. Clifford Moles, Project <br />Architect, Mr. David Jurief, U.S. Postal Service, Mr. Dan <br />Ivanoff, Prudential Project Manager, and Ms. Mary Roy, developer <br />of the U.S. postal facility, to answer any questions. <br /> <br /> Mr. Moles of Clifford Moles Associates, 405 Sansome Street in <br />San Francisco, explained the project in detail using various maps <br />and drawings on display. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the <br />public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver asked the staff what the parking ratio is and if <br />the parking could be a potential problem. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift replied that the parking spaces provided far exceed <br />the requirement under the Hacienda Design Guidelines and should <br />therefore provide no problem for the project. <br /> <br /> -2- <br /> 10-31-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
