421 <br /> <br /> It was then moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, <br />that Resolution No. 89-453 be adopted, approving financial aid in <br />the amount of $10,000 each to be sent from the City Council and <br />the citizens of the City of Pleasanton to the Earthquake Emergency <br />Funds of the cities of Watsonville, Santa Cruz and Los Gatos. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr requested Mr. Walker to come up with a brief summary <br />of the experiences of the City employees, particularly the <br />building inspectors, who have been sent to provide services to the <br />earthquake communities to improve Pleasanton's own awareness of <br />earthquake situations. <br /> <br />CQuncil Discussion on Elderly Residents Program <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver inquired if the Council could have more <br />information on the "Are You OK Program", which checks on elderly <br />residents in the community. He indicated his interest in finding <br />out the seniors' response to this type of program and the <br />possibility of adopting it for the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brandes stated that he is also interested in having more <br />information on the program. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer directed Ms. Bengtson to request the Park and <br />Recreation COmmission to look into the matter. <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at <br />this meeting. <br /> <br />10. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Item 10a <br />Ordinance 1432, An Ordinance of the City of Pleasanton amendinq <br />Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1234 requiring the use of fire <br />retardant roof materials within the City of Pleasanton and <br />adopting findings of facts to support the imposition of <br />requirements which are qreater than the requirements established <br />by ~he S~aEe Building ~tanaaras Code <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer opened the discussion on the matter. <br /> <br /> -13 - <br /> 10-31-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
