359 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> OCTOBER 3, 1989 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the <br />City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> Deputy City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll which is <br />recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, <br />Tarver, and Mayor Mercer. Staff members present were: Mr. <br />Walker, City Manager; Mr. Bocian, Assistant City Manager; Mr. <br />Roush, City Attorney; Mr. Swift, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Mr. Elliott, Director of Public Works and <br />Utilities; Mr. Smith, Director of Building Inspection; and Mr. <br />Hill, Fire Chief. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker indicated that there were no amendments to the <br />Agenda other than what appeared therein: <br /> <br /> Item 4g - Review of Bids and Award of Contract for Dorothea <br /> Court and Foothill Road Storm Drain Improvements - <br /> removed from the Agenda. . <br /> <br /> Item 6a - PUD-81-30-46D, Prudential Insuran6e Company, <br /> Application for design review to construct an <br /> approximately 5,040 sq. ft. post office substation, <br /> an 8,060 sq. ft. retail commercial building, and a <br /> building pad location for a potential 3,700 sq. ft. <br /> retail commercial/restaurant use to be located on <br /> an approximately 2.76-acre site located at the <br /> southwest corner of the intersection of Chabot <br /> Drive and Gibraltar Drive - continued to <br /> October 17, 1989. <br /> <br />4. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Jardine stated that he was involved in a project with <br />a Mr. Douglas Foust and that Mr. Foust was pledging Mr. Jardine's <br />funds towards the Maintenance Bond requested by the City. Mr. <br />Jardine said he had a preliminary injunction to prevent Mr. Foust <br />from using his money and requested that Item 4b be removed from <br />the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> 10-3-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
