208

Mr. Tarver stated that he has considered the position of the
neighbors' concerns about the project and the amount of high
density in the area; but he does not want to lose the high density
zoning in the property. It appears, however, that there would be
neighborhood opposition to a project of higher density. He
suggested that a condition be added that the developer contribute
$100,000 to the Affordable Housing Fund, over and above the fees
that have already been established, with no modification to the
design.

Mr. Brandes indicated that he would like to hear a comment
from Ms. Buxton regarding this condition.

Ms. Buxton stated that Bren Company will accept the condition
to contribute to the Affordable Housing Fund.

Mr. Brandes indicated that he would support the project but
that he was not in favor of adding the condition to contribute to
the Affordable Housing Fund.

Ms. Mohr stated that she was reluctant to give up on any
design improvements she felt were warranted. On the other hand,
making a contribution would probably be less costly to the project
than her suggestion would have been. She said that this was
commendable and worth supporting.

Mr. Butler mentioned that he was in favor of the contribution
but that he still could not vote for the project on this site.

It was moved by Mr. Tarver, and seconded by Mr. Mercer, that
Ordinance No. 1455 be adopted, approving AP-90-2/PUD-89-22, the
application of Bren Company for PUD rezoning and development plan
approval for a il2-unit single-family residential complex located
on a 13.7 acre ~ite at the northeast corner of Santa Rita Road and
Stoneridge Drive, as set forth in the Staff Report and subject to
the further condition that the developer contribute $100,000 to
the Affordab~.e l{ousing Fund over and above the fees that have
already been imposed by the other conditions of approval.
The roll call. vote was as follows:
AYES: Ccun~ilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor Mercer
NOES: Councilmember Butler
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

11. REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

No reports from the Boards or Commissions were presented at
this meeting.

12.
