144

Mr. Mercer requested Ms. Fokas to tell Ms. Bianchi to give
him a call to set up the appointment.

Ms. Debbie Smith, 7800 Flagstone Drive, read a letter from
the parents, teachers, students and friends at Lydiksen School
requesting the installation of stop signs at the intersection of
Highland Oaks Drive and Drywood Street.

Mr. Brandes stated that this was a legitimate concern and
that he supported any special action Council would need to take to
install the stop signs.

Mr. Mercer asked Mr. Roush if Council could put this on the
Agenda.

Mr. Roush replied that Council would have to make a finding
that this matter arose after the Agenda was posted. It could then
be added to the Agenda, and Council can take action on the matter.
Otherwise, it can be brought back in two weeks for official
Council action.

It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Mercer, that
Resolution No. 90-42 be adopted on the basis that the matter arose
after the Agenda was posted, and adding to the Agenda the request
to install a three-way stop sign at the intersection of Highland
Oaks Drive and Drywood Street.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Mr. Butler stated that he would prefer to have the Traffic
Engineering look into the matter first and make a recommendation.

It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, that
Resolution No. 90-43 be adopted, approving the installation of a
three-way stop sign at the intersection of Highland Oaks Drive and
Drywood Street.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor Mercer
NOES: Councilmember Butler
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Ms. Smith thanked the Council for its action.

Ms. Margaret Tracy of Preserve Area Ridgelands Committee
stated that the Zone 7 Board has received the latest State Water
Report and expressed concern about the present and future
deliveries of the State Water Project. She urged the Council to
give serious consideration to the City~s water supply.

- 4 -
3-6-90
