158 <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift replied that with any kind of reasonable delay, A-M <br /> Homes and Presley Homes would be the only two projects affected by <br /> the study. He added that staff is currently working on the EIR <br /> for the Currin project, but this will not be ready for another few <br /> months. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that enough units could be set aside for <br /> the two projects, assuming these will get growth management <br /> approval, and the final decision will not be made until the study <br /> is completed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler mentioned that the two projects have been <br /> indirectly affected by Councilts action and that he supports <br /> extending growth management for them. He expressed concern, <br /> however, that allowing planning and development for the two <br /> projects to proceed simultaneous to the Foothill Road Study would <br /> defeat the Studyts purpose of setting the development guidelines <br /> in the area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that it would not be wise for the two <br /> developments to do anything until after the April 2nd meeting <br /> because they would spend money on something Council may not <br /> approve. If the Council and the Planning Commission agree on some <br /> items during the study session, the two projects can start their <br /> planning based on those items. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr stated that for the past two years, there have <br /> always been problems with the growth management deadline. She <br /> inquired if changing the deadline could be included in the growth <br /> management review that is currently being undertaken by staff. <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler commented that the problem would always be there, <br /> no matter what the deadline is. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver and Mr. Brandes agreed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Butler, that <br /> growth management units be set aside for A-M Homes and Presley <br /> Company until the Foothill Road Corridor Study is completed. <br /> The roll call vote was as follQW~: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr and Tarver <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Mayor Mercer <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> - 18 - <br /> 3-6-90 <br /> <br /> <br />
