360

10 feet and backs up to the Rose Pavilion Phase III, which has
about five feet of landscaping on its side.

Ms. Mohr stated that she was trying to respond to an overall
conception of the City which would provide a view of a canopy of
trees from the freeway. She inquired if planting full-sized trees
in the area would interfere with the landscaping proposed for the
other side.

Mr. Swift replied that only columnar trees or small evergreens
would thrive in that amount of space.

Mr. Mercer commented that an addition of five columnar type
trees would not add to the view from the freeway, especially since
there would be other trees on the Rose Pavilion site.

It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Butler, that
Ordinance No. 1476 be introduced, to be read by title only and
waiving further reading thereof, approving PUD-85-14-1M, the
application of Richard Guasco for a major modification to an
approved planned unit development plan to allow for the
construction of a 4,900 square foot building located at 3880 Old
Santa Rita Road as set forth in the Staff Report and subject to the
conditions as approved by the Planning Commission.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmember Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item 6f, Item 6g, Item 6h, and Item 6i, Applications of PacTel
Properties, were considered together.

Item 6f
PUD-80-16-3M, Application for Planned Unit Development Rezoning for
the Maior Modification of the Approved Meyer Business Park
(Signature Center) Development Plan to Relocate Approximately
1,250,170 Square Feet of Approved Commercial, Office and Industrial
Uses on an 82.0 Acre Site Located Generally in the Northwest
Quadrant of Hopyard Road and Stoneridge Drive

Item 6g
PUD-80-16-5D, Application for Design Review Approval to Construct
a Three-Building, Approximately 138,500 Square Foot Office Complex
on an 8.81 Acre Site Located in the Area Generally Bounded by
Johnson Drive, Morse Drive, and Franklin Drive

7-17-90

- 12 -
