137 <br /> <br /> one puts on himself. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that this would be his last term as <br /> Pleasanton's mayor. He thanked the members of his family for their <br /> support during the 16 years he served in the Council. He mentioned <br /> that the past Council has tried to be as open as possible to allow <br /> citizen participation and thanked the residents for getting <br /> involved in the process. He also thanked the nine Councilmembers <br /> he has served with in the past and expressed the hope that this new <br /> Council accomplishes many good things for Pleasanton by the end of <br /> his two-year term. <br /> <br />~ Mr. Butler indicated that he had enjoyed working with Mr. <br />I--- Brandes for over 12 years and that Mr. Brandes would be missed. He <br />< welcomed Ms. Scribner to the Council and stated that he looked <br /> forward to working with her. He then congratulated Mr. Mercer and <br />Z Mr. Tarver on their reelection. <br />~ Ms. Mohr mentioned that Mr. Brandes and she have had their <br /> differences and approached problems in different ways but that at <br /> heart, they both had the best interests of Pleasanton up front. <br /> She welcomed Ms. Scribner and indicated that it was wonderful to <br /> have another woman in the Council. She then welcomed Mr. Mercer <br /> and Mr. Tarvet back. She added that this Council is a great team <br /> and that good things would certainly take place in the next two <br />-- years. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer thanked Judge Hyde for coming to install the newly <br /> elected officials. <br /> <br /> 7. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> There being no further business at 6:00 p.m., it was moved by <br /> Mr. Butler, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that the meeting be <br /> adjourned, to meet again in Regular Session on Tuesday, <br /> December ll, 1990, at 7:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> PEG~~OJ ~ITY CLERK <br /> <br /> - 3 - <br /> 12-04-90 <br /> <br /> <br />
