137 one puts on himself. Mr. Mercer stated that this would be his last term as Pleasanton's mayor. He thanked the members of his family for their support during the 16 years he served in the Council. He mentioned that the past Council has tried to be as open as possible to allow citizen participation and thanked the residents for getting involved in the process. He also thanked the nine Councilmembers he has served with in the past and expressed the hope that this new Council accomplishes many good things for Pleasanton by the end of his two-year term. ~ Mr. Butler indicated that he had enjoyed working with Mr. I--- Brandes for over 12 years and that Mr. Brandes would be missed. He < welcomed Ms. Scribner to the Council and stated that he looked forward to working with her. He then congratulated Mr. Mercer and Z Mr. Tarver on their reelection. ~ Ms. Mohr mentioned that Mr. Brandes and she have had their differences and approached problems in different ways but that at heart, they both had the best interests of Pleasanton up front. She welcomed Ms. Scribner and indicated that it was wonderful to have another woman in the Council. She then welcomed Mr. Mercer and Mr. Tarvet back. She added that this Council is a great team and that good things would certainly take place in the next two -- years. Mr. Mercer thanked Judge Hyde for coming to install the newly elected officials. 7. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business at 6:00 p.m., it was moved by Mr. Butler, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that the meeting be adjourned, to meet again in Regular Session on Tuesday, December ll, 1990, at 7:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers.
