104 <br /> <br /> It was then moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, <br /> that participation in the Pleasanton Ridgelands Committee be <br /> reopened to Pleasanton residents for a period of ten days, that new <br /> members would be required to attend the special meetings to be <br /> conducted by City staff and the Subcommittee Chairpersons and that <br /> they would be unable to vote on the final plan should they miss any <br /> future Committee meetings. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer recommended that an ad be put on the papers <br /> indicating that application for membership in the Pleasanton <br /> Ridgelands Committee would be reopened to residents of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer then stated that Council would discuss Item 12a <br /> before continuing on with the Agenda. <br /> <br /> 12. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Item 12a <br /> Alternatives for Reviewlnq the Proposed San Francisco Specific Plan <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 90:454) regarding the <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Art Agnos, Mayor of San Francisco, emphasized the <br /> seriousness and sincerity of the City of San Francisco regarding <br /> initiating the first step in planning the development of San <br /> Francisco lands in Pleasanton. He indicated that he was aware that <br /> the development of the San Francisco property is important to <br /> Pleasanton and its future, considering the size and location of the <br /> property. He added that the development of the property would cast <br /> an image of Pleasanton to motorists on 1-680 and would form an <br /> important entrance to the City of Pleasanton through the Bernal <br /> Avenue corridor. He stated that working together in a unique <br /> partnership presents a special opportunity to assure a product that <br /> would both serve San Francisco's interest as a property owner and <br /> meet the future needs of the Pleasanton community. He pointed out <br /> that the conceptual plan for the property represented the work of <br /> the San Francisco staff, with the guidance of the Pleasanton staff. <br /> He then introduced the members of the San Francisco team: Mr. Doug <br /> Wright, Deputy Mayor; Mr. Larry Florin, Assistant; Mr. Jeffrey <br /> Grote, Consultant from Planning Collaborative; and Mr. Martin <br /> Inderbitzen. <br /> <br /> - 6 - <br /> 11-20-90 <br /> <br /> <br />
