REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Item 12b <br /> Aqreement with the Pleasanton Unified School District for th~ <br /> Construction and Use of Two Gymnasiums at the Harvest Park School <br /> Site <br /> <br />Lr) Mr. Roush presented his report (SR 90:451) regarding the <br />v-- matter. <br />< Mr. Brandes commented that this was another dramatic example <br />Z of what the Council has able to accomplish through funds provided <br />  by the development of North Pleasanton and the shopping centers. <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, to <br /> approve the agreement with the Pleasanton Unified School District <br /> for the construction and use of two gymnasiums at the Harvest Park <br /> School site, as set forth in the Staff Report. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor <br />...... Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Item 12c <br /> Stop Siqn Study for Santa Rita Road/Sutter Gate Avenue Intersection <br /> <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report (SR 90:442) regarding the <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walt Temming, 4404 Sutter Gate Avenue, stated that cars <br /> coming out of Sutter Gate Avenue cannot safely make a left turn <br /> because of the 45 mile per hour speed limit on Santa Rita Road. He <br /> added that restricting parking on the south side of Sutter Gate <br /> Avenue will not solve the problem and proposed that the speed limit <br /> on Santa Rita Road be reduced to 35 miles per hour. He further <br /> suggested that an acceleration lane for a left-hand turn be <br /> installed if a stop light is deemed inappropriate for the <br /> intersection. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr inquired what level of relief the refuge area/ <br /> acceleration lane proposed by the Staff Report would provide. <br /> <br /> - 31 - <br /> 11-20-90 <br /> <br /> <br />
