69

Item 8f
Approval of the Final Map, Improvement Plans and Subdivision
Aqreement for Tract 632~, Laquna Oaks, Unit B - Ahmanson
Development, a 22+ Acre Sinqle-Family Residential Subdivision
Consistinq of 90 Lots, Located on the North Side of Bernal Avenue
Between the Arroyo De La Laquna and 1-680

Mr. Elliott presented his report (SR 90:408) regarding the
matter.

Mr. Brandes stated that after a thorough presentation on the
Laguna Oaks project was made in February, Council voted unanimously
to approve the project's final plan. He commented that it was very
convenient for Mr. Tarver to make a statement regarding his vote
eight months later, this being campaign season.

Mr. Tarver explained that he had made a mistake in voting for
the approval of the project after previously voting against it
three times for several reasons, including density and the grading
of Foothill Road. He stated that when the final plan was discussed
in February, he concentrated on the monies that would go to the
school and the realignment of Foothill Road to make it safer,
rather than on the issues he had concerns about in the previous
votes. He clarified that while he regrets having voted for the
project's approval, he is not changing that vote and that he would
vote in favor of the Final Map, Improvements Plans and Subdivision
Agreement for the project.

It was moved by Mr. Butler, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, to
approve the Final Map, Improvement Plans and Subdivision Agreement
for Tract 6320, Laguna Oaks, Unit B - Ahmanson Development, a
22+-acre single-family residential subdivision consisting of 90
lots, located on the north side of Bernal Avenue between the Arroyo
De La Laguna and 1-680, as set forth in the Staff Report.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Stop Siqn on Santa Rite Road and Sutter Gate

Mr. Mercer commented that motorists coming from Sutter Gate
have a difficult time trying to get onto Santa Rite. He requested
staff to look into the possibility of installing a stop sign at the
intersection of Santa Rite Road and Sutter Gate.

10-16-90
- 13 -
