94 <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver commented that he has always voted in opposition to <br /> all issues favoring Pleasant Village Center but that all the <br /> comments that have been made on the grand opening event are <br /> correct. He agreed with Mr. Butler that the requests are <br /> reasonable. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Mercer, and seconded by Mr. Butler, that <br /> Ordinance No. 1504 be introduced, to be read by title only and <br /> waiving further reading thereof, approving PUD-80-15-5D-3M, the <br /> application of Pleasant Village Center, Shell Oil, and Bakers <br /> Square Restaurant for a major modification to an approved planned <br /> unit development to allow for the use of banners for promotional <br /> and grand opening events at the Pleasant Village Shopping Center <br /> located at 6700 Santa Rita Road at the intersection of Pimlico <br /> Drive, as set forth in the Staff Report, subject to the Conditions <br /> of Approval, modifying Condition No. 9 of PUD-80-15-5D to read as <br /> follows: "That at no time shall balloons, banners, pennants, or <br /> other attention-getting devices be utilized on the site except as <br /> allowed by Section 18.96.040K of the Zoning Ordinance for grand <br /> openings or by Section 18.116.060 .of the Zoning Ordinance if <br /> approved by temporary conditional use permit as part of a <br /> decorating plan in conjunction with shopping center promotional <br /> events. Hot-air type balloons may be used for grand openings for <br /> a maximum of one day or in accordance with the rules affecting such <br /> balloons for other businesses in the City.
