Adoption of Resolution No. 91-07, ratifying the <br /> appointment of the members to the Alameda County Waste <br /> Management Authority Integrated Waste Management Plan <br /> Task Force. (SR 91:37) <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />Pleasanton JaTcees Project <br /> <br /> Mr. Ken Powell, 4 Greens Lane, together with Mr. Rich <br />Williams, representing the Pleasanton Jaycees, stated that the <br />Pleasanton Jaycees is sponsoring a project to convert the downtown <br />area to an Avenue of the Flags by putting up flags for each of the <br />27 military personnel from the Pleasanton community who are serving <br />in the Middle East. He requested the Council to advance the funds <br />to pay for the flags while the group is raising funds with which to <br />reimburse the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer inquired how much it would cost to sponsor a flag. <br /> <br /> Mr. Powell replied that they are looking at a maximum <br />expenditure of $2,700 or $100 per flag. <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler inquired on which portion of the downtown area the <br />27 flags would be placed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Powell answered that the flags would hang on both sides of <br />the street from the Amador Valley High School to City Hall. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer proposed that the City advance $3,000 for the <br />project and indicated that he would sponsor the first flag. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush stated that before the Council can take action, <br />Council will have to make a motion to add the item to the Agenda on <br />the basis that the matter arose after the Agenda was posted. <br /> <br /> - 3 - <br /> 1-22-91 <br /> <br /> <br />
