202

Mr. Andy Jorgensen, Recreation Supervisor for the City of
Pleasanton, stated that the Committee would function as a task
force to look in detail at the entire issue of public art before
any selection of art is made or any specific project is developed.

Mr. Tarver inquired if the Committee would include a Council
representative.

Ms. Severin replied that the presence of a Councilmember would
be a positive input to the Committee.

Ms. Scribner inquired if this would be an ongoing committee.

Mr. Jorgensen replied that Phase III of the program deals with
the Committee's recommendation on specific guidelines and
procedures, which would include the terms for the Committee and the
duration of the appointment of its members.

It was moved by Mr. Butler, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, to
approve the recommended tasks and responsibilities for the Public
Art Committee~ as set forth in the Staff Report.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item 8b
Review of Modifications to Alameda County Aqricultural Policies
(IR 91:31)

Mr. Tarver inquired whether or not the County notified the
City and followed CEQA procedures with respect to the adoption of
the revisions to the County's agricultural policies.

Ms. Acosta replied that she would look into the matter.

Ms. Mohr commented that she could not understand the logic of
the County's position "to allow Planned Development zoning only in
areas which have extensive potential for vineyards or field crops,"
which would allow houses only in areas which could be developed
agriculturally.

- 26 -
5-21-91
