25 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, that <br />Resolution No. 91-154 be adopted, approving the amendment to the <br />Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Unified <br />School District relating to the joint use of two gymnasiums, as set <br />forth in the ~taff Report. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Ms. Juanita Haugen, President of the Pleasanton Unified School <br />District Board, thanked the Council, on behalf ofthe School Board, <br />for the cooperation it has extended to the School District <br />throughout the years, and especially for the Agreements on the <br />exchange of properties and the joint use of the gymnasiums. <br /> <br />Item 12e ~Item 4m) <br />Authorization tO SendLetter to Alameda CountyBoard of Supervisors <br />Reqardinq Increased Tax AssesSment of Viacom Cablevision Property <br />(SR 91:358) <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver stated that he has received numerous calls in <br />connection with the letter Viacom sent to its subscribers regarding <br />its rate increase, which has doubled in four years. The Viacom <br />letter indicates this increase is due to the property taxes, but <br />why have rates doubled in the past three years? <br /> <br /> Ms. Myrt Jones, General Manager of Viacom Cable in the East <br />Bay area, indicated the increase was 67% not 100%. She further <br />indicated there was just cause for the previous increases and she <br />could go into a lengthy presentation. She added that Viacom has <br />requested the Council to write a letter to the Alameda County Board <br />of Supervisors asking the Board to review the tax assessment, which <br />Viacom feels was unfairly implemented, to help the customers by a <br />repeal of part of the rate increase. <br /> <br /> - 14 - <br /> 9-3-91 <br /> <br /> <br />
