Mr. Roush replied that the total number of units that would
get preference or an exemption is 200, whether they come in one
year or phased over several years. He continued that should the
School DistriCt have more than 200 proposed units, the balance
would be considered with all other Growth Management applicants.

It was moved by Mr. Butler, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that
Resolution No. 91-153 be adopted, approving the Agreement between
the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Unified School District
for the exchange of real property, as set forth in the Staff
Report.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item 12d
Amendment to the Aqreement Between the City of Pleasanton and the
Pleasanton Unified School District Relatinq to the Joint Use of Two
Gymnasiums (SR 91:367)

Ms. Scribner requested a clarification of the $3 million
referred to under i~.A. City's Contribution to City and School
Facilities as the total amount the City would pay the School
District. Since the City and the School District are s~aring the
costs equally, would the City pay less if the final costs are less
than $6 million?

Ms. Acosta explained that there would be some City-incurred
expenses which would not make the final costs exactly 50-50;
however, it would be close to that, and the City's maximum expense
would be $3 million.

Mr. Mercer stated that the City may require some things in the
gymnasiums that the School District may not need, such as office
space or additional lockers, and which would be paid for by the
City.

Mr. Mercer indicated that it is good to see the School
District and the City work together for the benefit of the
community. He thanked the members of the School District Board for
all their time and effort in helping the City to complete the
project.

- 13 -
9-3-91
