147

5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Trish Maas and Jim Fields, Park and Recreation Commissioners,
presented to the City of Pleasanton the 1991 Facility Design and
Park Planning Award for a special purpose park, given by the
California Park and Recreation Society and ARCO, for the Pleasanton
Sports and Recreation Park. The Commissioners thanked the Council
for its continued support.

Mayor Mercer accepted the award. He commended the Park and
Recreation Commission and the City staff for meeting the needs of
the community and designing facilities to meet those needs.

Joyce McCaffery, 3393 Arbor Drive, explained that she and her
neighbors were not notified of the hearing regarding the placement
of a stop sign on Bordauex andArbor Drive. She indicated that her
home is directly in front of where the stop sign would be placed
and she felt that there could be other solutions to the traffic
problem.

Mayor Mercer explained that in order for Council to reconsider
this subject, one of the Councilmembers who voted in support of
placing the stop sign at that corner would have to make a motion to
reconsider and then it would be placed on the next agenda.

Mr. Tarver agreed to reconsider this matter. He was under the
assumption that all neighbors had been noticed of the hearing on
March 3, 1992.

Mayor Mercer asked that this item be placed on the April 21,
1992 City Council Agenda.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS

Item 6a
Application for planned Unit Development rezoninq and development
plan approval for a 4-lot sinqle-family residential subdivision on
an approximately 1.03 acre site located at 1635 Rose Avenue.
Zoninq for this pro~ect is "A" {Aqricultural) District.

Also consider adoption of a Negative Declaration

This item was continued to the April 7, 1992 City Council meeting.

Item 6b
/~nendment to Business License Ordinance

Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the
application.

There were no speakers on this item.

3/17/92 5
