He felt that it did not cover who was
going to be part of the body or how to handle sub-regional
disputes. It only talked about the regional disputes not being
given to the sub-regional areas. He felt that it was very
cumbersome. He supported the direction that the County was headed
in to try to set up sub-regions and involve the cities.

Mr. Butler agreed.

It was moved by Mr. Tarvet, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, to
support the Alameda County Economic Development Advisory Board
growth management alternative, which focuses on coordination
between existing jurisdictions rather than creation of new layers
of government, such as the Bay Vision 2020 proposal.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item l~f
Item 40
Consideration of Alameda County's formation of a Waste Reduction
AdVisory Board/Local Task Force (SR92:126)

It was moved by Mayor Mercer, and seconded byMr. Butler, that
the City of Pleasanton not support a Local Agency Task Force.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarvet and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

3/17/92 25
