128 <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer thought that the City gave $15,000, and the City <br /> of Livermore contributed $15,000, and the County of Alameda <br /> contributed the balance to the Fertile Cresent Study. He asked <br /> what was the $15,000 used for. He felt that if there had been no <br /> action taken by the County on this study then the City should get <br /> back the $15,000. <br /> <br /> Councilmember believed that the City would not get the money <br /> back because the Study was combined with the Livermore Plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler indicated that the City of Dublin dropped out of <br /> the Performing Arts Study. The Committee would not be asking for <br /> more money to cover Dublin's share of the costs. He hoped that the <br /> Committee would come to an Agreement soon. <br /> <br /> 10. REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br /> Item 13a <br /> City Council/Ridqelands Committee Sponsored Ridgelands Initiative <br /> (SR92:109) <br /> <br /> Paul Corrado, 1519 Fairview Court, asked that Council listen <br /> to the input from the majority of the Ridgelands Committee before <br /> it adopted the language for the ballot. He wanted to be sure that <br /> the language was fair and impartial and that the proposal preserved <br /> the Ridge. He felt the amount of land involved should be clearly <br /> stated. The number of units is critical and the number of people <br /> over the time span. He felt very strongly that there should not be <br /> any cost to the current residents. <br /> <br /> Frank Neu, 18210 Camel Drive, Castro Valley, asked that <br /> language be included to indicated that 80% of the area was going to <br /> be preserved for open space. <br /> <br /> Martin Inderbitzen, 5000 Hopyard Road, Suite 400, spoke not <br /> only as the representative of many homeowners on the Ridge but also <br /> as a concerned citizen. He believed that the ballot language <br /> should not reflect political comments. He was concerned that the <br /> language used in the ballot needed to be impartial.
