MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br /> Item 8a <br /> Request for Excused Absence for Councilmember Dorothy Scribner <br /> (SR92:295) <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Mr. Butler, <br /> approving the excused absence of Ms. Scribner from the three future <br /> City Council meeting. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Tarver <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Item 8b <br /> Consideration of Stop Signs at Mohr/Kolln and Morqanfield/Kolln <br /> (SR92:274) <br /> <br /> Wayne Mastin, reiterated his concerns for this request. He <br /> was concerned with the traffic and the high speed of vehicles in <br /> this neighborhood. He explained that the neighborhood streets were <br /> being used as a thorough-faire. Mr. Mastin described the routes <br /> taken through the neighborhood from different directions. He <br /> requested that stop signs be placed at the Mohr/Kolln intersection <br /> and the Morganfield/Kolln intersection. He believed that the stop <br /> signs would be slow the traffic down or detour the drivers to take <br /> a different route. He explained that the police patrolling had <br /> alleviated some of the problem but had not eliminated it. He <br /> suggested that a no left hand turn be placed on Morganfield at <br /> Santa Rita Road and some crosswalks and stop signs by the park. <br /> <br /> 7/7/92 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
