231

The document provides a map, a chronological list of events and
contacts that he has made and a set of reasonable requests. The
reason for his action is a result of a lack of concern of safety of
this tract.

Mayor Tarver asked that staff review and respond to the
letter.

Birdie Bianchi, 4329 Railroad Street, pointed out that three
of the trees on Railroad Avenue are broken off and need to be taken
care of. She indicated her yard is being damaged from the
soundwall placed there while construction was being done next to
her home.

Mayor Tarver asked that staff review and respond to Ms.
Bianchi's concerns.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS

Item 6a
AP-92-22/Z-92-230, Saturn of Pleasanton
Appeal by City Council of a decision of the Zoninq A~ministrator
approvinq an application for administrative desiqn review to
install an individually illuminated lettered wall-mounted siqn and
a 17' hiqh pylon siqn for the Saturn automobile dealership to b~
located at 4340 Rosewood Drive. (SR92:508)

Mr. Swift presented Council with the staff report.

Mayor Tarver asked how visible the sign would be from the
freeway.

Mr. Swift stated that it would not be very visible.

Mr. Pico asked if a second sign on the side of the building
that faces the freeway is allowable under the Ordinance.

Mr. Swift was not sure because it would depend on the height
of the building.

Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing open on the
application.

Les Rich, 282 Begier Avenue, San Leandro, 94501, representing
Lloyd A. Wise, responded to Mr. Pico's question regarding signage
on the side of the building. He explained that a sign on the side
of the building would not work because of the height factor. He is
aware that the proposed sign does not get much visibility from the
freeway, but it is mostly for identification of the Saturn logo.

12/15/92 5
