There being no further testimony, the public heating was closed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner cited examples of cities being designed to encourage wallring. She referred <br />to comments that people move to Pleasanton because of the charm of downtown, yet when asked <br />if they shopped there, they did not. This plan is designed to change that. She suggested that <br />street furniture not be site specific. She was still in favor of street trees and angled parking. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner to adopt the recommendations of the Planning Commission <br />and Design Review Board and to include bulb-outs, pop-outs and mid-block crossings. The <br />motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> There was discussion about traffic concerns and the effects of the design changes.
