86

scenarios based on the rate of development and the number of
children generated from each newunit as well as the existingunits _
in Pleasanton. This plan is reviewed annually with the City.

Ms. Acosta added that the Planning Consultant who attended
that meeting indicated that he had made contact with the School
District and received information regarding one school. The
newspaper article came as a surprise to many people.

6. He also shared his concern with emergency access to this
project in case that the Martinique project never got built. Mr.
Pico asked if there was any problem with water pressure in this
area.

Mr. Swift explained that the Martinique development growth
management approval has lapsed. He further explained where the
Martinique project extended to and that it would have constructed
the water line from Valley Avenue to the site and the sewer line as
well. Without the Martinique project, this project is required to
connect to the sewer line that runs easterly rather than westerly.
Mr. Swift then described the type of project this would be and
several of the available accesses. The Alameda County Fairgrounds
Board has agreed to make the accesses available for emergencies.
There is no water pressure problem.

Ms. Scribner asked what the industrial and commercial uses
were that this project would have to be shielded from.

Mr. Swift explained that the Alameda County Fairgrounds leases
property to some light-industrial warehouse uses which are located
across from this project. Although there is some landscaping done
by Alameda County it is not sufficient to screen the view or the
noise.

4
