207 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that Ordinance No. 1604 <br />be introduced, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, amending Table <br />18.44.090 of the City of Plea~nton Municipal Code. <br /> <br />The r011 call vote was as followS: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, and Scribner <br />NOES: Councilmember Pico and Mayor Tarver <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 14e <br />1) Review and Adopt 1993-94 Operating BUdget and Allocation ofHCD Fundsl (SR93:332) <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver declared the public heating open on the application. <br /> <br /> John Waiters, 5990 Stoneridge Mall Road, Convention and Visitors Bureau, explained <br />how the CVB has reduced its spending and raised its dues by 25 %. He requested the City to <br />contribute $185,000 to the CVB because the City benefits by the CVB's efforts. <br /> <br /> Alexis Gass, 350-A Main Street, explained that businesses downtown benefit from the <br />CVB and supported Mr. Walter's request. <br /> <br /> Dagmar Fulton, P O Box 250, Pleasanton, Amador Livermore Valley Historical Society, <br />asked that Council allow the Historical Society the $10,000 that it greatly needs and would <br />appreciate. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico believed that the Operating Budget (Allocation of Reserves) should reflect that <br />the Capital Projects Reserve that is earmarked for Fire Station #4 be moved to the Parks Capital <br />Improvement Fund or that the designation of these monies be removed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner disagreed. She felt that the these monies should remain designated until <br />the public safety issue is evaluated. <br /> <br /> There was discussion about reserving monies in the General Fund for Fire Station <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, to approve a Housing <br />Specialist position to coordinate the City's affordable housing effort, and to approve an <br />Economic Development Specialist position. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta described what each position's responsibility would be and what benefit <br />would be to the City. <br /> <br />08/17/93 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
