City of Pleasanton <br />Application to add Chapter 18.114 and amend other associated references Of the Pleasant0n <br />Municipal Code concerning Adult Entertainment EstabliShmentS (SR93:325) <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis asked why the 1000 foot standard was not used for this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift explained that it is a matter of convenience as well as the law. <br /> <br /> In response to Ms. Mohr's questions, Mr. Swift explained the zoning for these types of <br />uses and the non-conforming regulations. <br /> <br /> There was discussion of first amendment rights. Mr. Roush indicated that the proposed <br />ordinance reaches enough sites to meet first amendment rights. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver inquired about displaying adult movies at video stores. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush stated that he would see if other City ordinances needed amending. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing open on the application. <br /> <br /> There being no testimony, Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, that Ordinance No. 1603 <br />be introduced, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, approving an <br />ordinance of the City of Pleasanton adding Chapter 18/114 and amending Chapter 10.16 and <br />Section 18.44.090 concerning adult entertainment establishments. <br /> <br />The roll Call vote was as followS: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, and Scribner <br />NOES: Mayor Tarver <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />08/17/93 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
