Main Street Second Hand Store Ms. Scribner pointed out the second hand store's use permit had never been presented to Council. She asked staff to review this issue and report to Council at a hter time. Sister Ci_t7 Ms. Mohr asked staff to pursue adopting a sister city relationship with a city in the flood area. She then asked if Council would consider writing the national sentice clubs in the City asking for cooperation and interest they might have. She suggested using one group to act as the coordinaWr. LAVTA lVIr. Pico requested that the ratification of LAVTA action be placed on the next City Council agenda for further discussion. There was some discussion regarding MTC's priorities regarding the northwest BART station, Altamont Rail and the Livenore extension. F-¢sidenfial Picketing - Mayor Tarver requested that action on the residential picketing issue be delayed until San Jose's issue is resolved. Ms. Mohr felt that action should be taken before picketing becomes a large problem. She stated that it was not fair to the neighbors of those whose homes are being picketed. Ms. Mohr was very concerned with the safety of the neighborhoods. Bill Eastman, Police Chid, indicated that picketing has been on-going at the hospitals and in a few neighborhoods. Council asked that the Police Chief make certain that there is proper police coverage during demostration situations. It was moved by Ms. Mohr to add this issue to September l, 1993 Special City Council meeting for further discussion. The motion died for lack of a second. Qwwth Management Mayor Tarvet requested that the proposed revision to the Growth Management Program -- be placed on the agenda for September 1, 1993. 08/17/93 15
