MATFERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br /> Item IDa <br /> AnDroyal of A_m'eement with Pacific Bell for Centrex System (SR93:210) <br /> <br /> Steven Bocian presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Gerard McNulty, NEC Business Communication Systems (Wes0 Inc., 6960 KoH Center <br /> Parkway, believed that a fair comparison was not conducted. He listed what he believed were <br /> discrepancies in the staff report and asked that this item be continued to ensure that there is a <br /> fair comparison done. <br /> <br /> Gary Rath, 605 Crystal Court, Pacific Bell, explained that Pacific has been serving the <br /> City with the Centrex System for the past ten years. He described Pacific Bell's program. <br /> <br /> Jerry Watanabe, 57 Medeira, Pacific Bell, spoke in support of this agreement with Pacific <br /> Bell. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bocian was comfortable with the analysis that was completed by staff and supported <br /> staff recommendation. He did not believe that another comparison was necessary. Mr. Bocian <br /> explained that there is an existing agreement which expires in approximately six to eight months <br /> however, the staff does not wish to extend it because it is at a higher rate. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver believed that the City should be considering ways to reduce expenditures <br /> in every way possible.
